About EvoCam
EvoCam is the ultimate webcam software for Mac OS X. Use EvoCam to publish a webcam with streaming video, view and record video from network cameras and video servers, create timelapse movies, or use it as part of your home security system with its configurable motion sensors - these are just a few of the things you can do with this easy-to-use yet incredibly powerful webcam software!

EvoCam 3.6.2 adds support for more network cameras, and fixes several bugs affecting application stability. See below for a full list of changes in this version. EvoCam 3.6.2 is $30, and is a free upgrade for registered users of EvoCam 3.2 or later. Registered users of EvoCam 3.1 or earlier can upgrade for $10.

As always, it is your feedback that allows EvoCam to continue evolving, so please send all feedback to support@evological.com. And of course, there's no better way to show your appreciation than purchasing EvoCam!
How it works
Using virtually any QuickTime-compatible video camera, EvoCam periodically captures an image and uploads it via FTP to your web server. You can also create one or more motion sensors, which will analyze the video for motion and capture a new image when motion occurs. EvoCam can also create timelapse QuickTime movies, compressing hours, days or weeks into seconds of video.
Built-in web server included
EvoCam also has a built-in web server, allowing you to connect directly to EvoCam using any Java-capable browser and view your webcam. The built-in server can be password protected, and you can customize the HTML to give your webcam a personalized look.
Intuitive user interface
EvoCam was designed to be an elegant, easy-to-configure, easy-to-customize webcam application. EvoCam uses true WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) editing of text captions, picture badges, clocks and effect items. EvoCam allows you to edit these items in place over live video from your camera, continually updating the video display in realtime, even if you are moving or resizing items, editing text within a caption, or changing an item's color. With EvoCam's intuitive user interface, you'll be running your own webcam in minutes!

What People Are Saying About EvoCam:
“I installed cameras in my daughter's school for security purposes. I set up EvoCam to run 17 Panasonic BL-C20A and 3 Canon VB-C50i cameras networked to an Intel iMac. The cameras watch the parking lots, hallways, gym, cafeteria, etc.

The 20 cameras run in 20 individual EvoCam windows and archive a 320x240 image every 10 seconds into a daily QuickTime movie. EvoCam does this 24/7. Quick math tells me that one image every 10 seconds is 8,640 images per camera per day. Multiply that by 20 cameras and you get 172,800 images archived per day!

The principal can see all 20 images on a single browser page that updates every 15 seconds and he can access live video served by EvoCam by clicking on any image, locally and via the web.

Long story short, the iMac and EvoCam have both performed perfectly this school year.

“My webcam, www.wozcam.org, featuring an aquarium made from an old Macintosh G4 Cube computer shell has been running flawlessly since I started it in November of 2005.

I used the site to help raise money for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, and will be doing so again this year.

Again, thank you for your fine product. EvoCam's ease of use, fantastic user interface and bulletproof stability are unequaled.”

“You guys rock! In case you don't know it already: you make a great piece of software with EvoCam. It is by far the best webcam software I've ever used - and at a very reasonable price. Kudos to you folks and keep up the good work!”

“The quality of your product extends past installation to the outstanding customer support you have provided. While this should always be a consideration when ordering, it is very difficult to determine until you actually need the help.

I run Mac OS X server and had already purchased a iBot. My goal was to have a simple home-cam for my friends and family. I tried each of the 3 or 4 programs that came with the iBot. Lots of good stuff, but nothing that was plug-and-play for creating my homecam.

I put a post on a news group and was referred to your product EvoCam. Within 5 minutes of receiving the reply, I was up and running. The installation could not have been easier. With a false sense of confidence, I felt ambitious and tried a more complicated implementation. Of course I got stuck, I shot an eMail off to support@evological.com, and within minutes I had a reply which solved my problem.

Anyone considering purchasing your product should know about my experience.”

“I think the latest version of EvoCam (v3.1) tops what was already a great product. Thanks to a helpful email from tech support I was able to realize all of the latest and greatest features and then configure two cameras on a single computer. This morning I ventured into using the Built-In Webserver and got two cameras broadcasting from behind my router/firewall. Way kewl! The user interface is spiffy and configuration of all of EvoCam features is simple. Thank you one and all at Evological for making such a fantastic Mac-only product!”
